I've moved!

Hello my faithful obsessive followers.

The time has come to say a fond farewell to Blogger...and a big hello to Wordpress! Blogger has, for me, unfortunately become a tad clunky and annoying to use so I've taken the plunge and migrated my (nearly five years worth!) little world to a new sparkly home.

I haven't been posting as much here because of my frustrations with the behind the scenes workings of Blogger. So many people said to me that Wordpress was the place to be and I
have to agree.

So a huge thank you to all for following and all your support over the years. I hope you join me on the new road to deliciousness.

See you on the other side...

Merry Christmas to all my fantabulous followers!

I've been a very busy bee lately and I haven't been paying enough attention to my obsessive little world! I'm very sorry for that but hopefully there will be a completely new revamp around these parts in the new year.

I've been busy making lots of geometric decorations and tags as you can see above, hope you like them.

Anyway, have a very Merry Christmas everyone!

Friday Feast...

Lovely warm wood for those dark Autumnal nights, I especially like the wall behind the bed in the third pic. I will have one of those fireplaces in the first pic one day...drool...

Have a great weekend all.

New 2013 calendar...

My 2012 calendar was very popular so I decided to follow it up with a 2013 version. It is available in A3 and a larger 50 x 70 cm poster size but if you have a particular size in mind then contact me through my etsy store. A custom colour service is also available at no extra cost.

I'm not quite sure where 2012 went, before you know it I'll be working on the 2014 version!

Daily drooling...

So much design goodness in one room!

Have a great week all.

Bargain corner...

I've bought a few delicious things recently or as David would say "Not more tat!?"

First off we have a rather large and heavy book all about the designer Alexander Girard. It's one of the most beautiful books I've ever seen! It's stuffed full of gorgeous images, oh and some text but I haven't got around to actually reading anything yet because I'm constantly sidetracked by the images. It retails for around a hefty £130 and I managed to get it on Evilbay for £69.

Secondly we have the Cross blanket by Pia wallen. This is the less expensive version of the famous Crux blanket and it is gorgeous! Well worth every penny and no I didn't get it at a bargain price but I've wanted one for so long, they were at last back in stock and I just had to have one. Slaps hand.

Just look at that large blue beauty in the third pic! I needed a larger Krenit bowl to keep my smaller ones company. I've watched so many over the last few years on Evilbay and the price has just gone up and up as has anything Mid Century Modern so I thought it would go for around £150. It was in Americaland and the auction finished at stupid o'clock in the middle of the night, so I placed a bid with my top amount being £90 but I really didn't think I had a chance. I won it for £55! There were import charges but the less said about that the better because I'll start ranting about it!

Last of all is an Arabia vase which I managed to win on Evilbay for £19. Slightly smaller than I though but even nicer in real life.

I've also got my hands on another large Krenit bowl in red this week and at an amazing price! Pics soon...

Have a great weekend!

Friday feast...

Hello! My apologies for having neglected you all for so long! It's all go here at Obsessilicious Towers because...we are selling our flat and moving!!!

If you follow my Twitter feed than you probably already know all about it, if you don't then I will explain more very soon. The house we are hopefully going to buy (price has been agreed!) is quirky, needs a lot of work to update it and I've loved it for years. We are getting all of the outstanding jobs finished in the flat at last so we have had carpenters, metalworkers and decorators here. I will be posting lots of pics over the next few weeks.

Anyway, hope you like the pics, I seem to be channeling black, white and a smattering of grey at the moment.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend.

Friday Feast...

Happy Friday everyone!

I need that large Alexander Girard 'Love" print in the first pic above! I have a cushion which I bought from Urban Outfitters on one of our trips to NYC. I must find one.

What's everyone up to this (holiday in the UK) weekend? We are planning a trip to the garden centre for yet more plants and pots for our two balconies and some boozing with friends.

Have a good one.

Good (or bad) old Ikea...

We recently made a spontaneous last minute, mad dash to Ikea Land in Cardiff. It was also on a Friday afternoon, yes a friday afternoon and not our usual early Saturday morning sneak in and out job which we have been doing for years. David hates visiting Ikea with a passion and the shorter the visit the better for him. Our best record time is ten minutes. It can be done.

I was in desperate need for new tables for my office and after an extensive search of the interweb I decided to go for the Melltorp tables. White, minimal and a starting price of £19.99 for the 75 x 75 cm square version. I bought three, the 75cm square one and two 75 x 125 cm to form an L shape. £73.99 for three tables, bargain.

I also wanted to have a look at the new Kvissle range of office accessories. White coated metal with cork accents, very nice they are too and at £11.99 for the four storage boxes above, they just had to make their way into my trolley. I also bought the magazine files.

Something else which happened to make it's way home with me was the Henny blanket (shown above on my new Robin Day sofa bed). I came across it quite a while ago but I didn't know where it was from. I assumed it was rather expensive and then one day whilst looking on the Ikea website, there it was! Love the pattern, it's feels very nice indeed and at 35 quid it will keep you warm and cosy and won't break the bank.

So, whether you love Ikea or hate it, one thing for sure is that they still come up with a few gems.

Friday Feast...

Happy Friday!

Sorry I've been away for so long! It's been busy, busy, busy here at Obsessilicious/Yumalum Towers. I've been sorting out my office/studio space now that I have decided to use the spare room instead of the loft. Lots of pics coming your way soon which will include my delicious new Robin Day sofa bed (there is one in the second pic down).

I'm chuffed to bits to find out that little old Obsessilicious made it into the Cision Top 10 UK Interior Design Blogs on Twitter! Happy days. Tweet tweet.

Have a fantastic weekend!
